Teri McNally
Teri McNally was born August 30, 1958 on Ellsworth AFB, where her father was stationed while serving in the Air Force. Teri spent her childhood at many different bases including South Dakota, California, North Dakota, and Nebraska. After Highschool, she went to college at National American University and later transferred to University of Oklahoma. Teri soon got homesick for the place she considers home, and moved back to The Black Hills.
Teri’s first jobs were as a Candy Striper at St John’s hospital in Rapid City and as a waitress at Village Inn Pancake House. After college she ventured out and has worked for Mid-Western Homes, the University of Oklahoma, Alex Johnson, D & R Service and sold advertising. It was when she met Todd Walhoff from Wells Fargo that she was brought into the mortgage business. Todd and Terry Telechan have been her mentors in the business. For the last 5 years Teri has worked for Black Hills Community Bank as a Mortgage Loan Originator…
Teri and her husband, Mark McNally have been married for almost 32 years. Teri met Mark at the Alex Johnson when he was delivering beer and the rest is history. They have one son who is a nurse at Sanford in Sioux Falls and is married. They enjoy laying back at the lake with their son and his wife. Family is so important to them. Teri’s motto is life is too short not to laugh and she loves to laugh and making people laugh.
Teri was introduced to the Home Builders Association by Todd when he asked her to attend a meeting with him. From her first interaction with the group in 2010, Teri has been very involved. In her 13 years as a member, she has participated on several committees and was the Vice President in 2019. Teri has served on several committees including: Associates, Golf, Pub Crawl, and Build PAC. While helping to further the growth and goals of the organization. Providing her direction and mentorship in helping to raise funds, keep membership involvement and planning of events.
Teri’s biggest contribution to the Home Builders has been her involvement with the creation of the annual Pub Crawl with Darin Howie. Teri and Darin created an event that raises money to help support two local families in need each year. The event has grown from making $300 the first year to almost $77,000 in 2023. Her involvement year after year has helped grow this event. Teri has also been the recipient of the Tribby Award. This is an award that is special to any Home Builder Member and is a great honor to receive.
Teri’s work in the banking industry for over 12 years has aligned with our goals to be an advocate for those wishing for home ownership in the Black Hills Area. Her willingness to advocate for those in the building industry has been essential in maintaining the organization’s goals.
